Company founder John Stewart has been a bench jeweler since 1981. In addition to formal bench training, he has spent a lot of time looking over other jewelers’ shoulders, as well as a fair amount of time "reinventing the wheel."

Background

In 1987, John opened Wholesale Diamond Consultants, an insurance replacement and retail store, as owner and head Goldsmith. Under his direction, the store has built a solid reputation as a fine custom jeweler.

John started working with ArtCAM JewelSmith in 1996 without any computer experience and credits his success to excellent training by Cecily Concidine at Model Master as well as to lots of hands-on practice learning ArtCAM inside and out. In 2005, John joined Model Master as a sales agent and one of a select group of certified ArtCAM JewelSmith trainers.

Years of learning and using ArtCAM JewelSmith on the job and streamlining procedures for maximum productivity led John to formally market products and services through GoldSmith CAD CAM starting in 2008.

Future

In 2010, GSCC became one of a select few Authorized Resellers of ArtCAM JewelSmith, covering Sales in the United States and Canada. With one hand in the retail jewelry world and the other well-versed in ArtCAM Jewelsmith, Goldsmith CAD CAM is uniquely positioned to bring ArtCAM JewelSmith education and innovation to the jewelry industry.
